CHARACTERISTIC DETAILS OF THE SPECIES Carchadodus alceae, Muschampia orientalis, Muschampia floccifera and Muschampia stauderi

  1. The identification of Carcharodus alceae and Muschampia lavatherae is easy if the UNS is visible but also if the characteristic details of UPS.
  2. The species Muschampia stauderi has a limited distribution in the islands of the eastern Aegean (Rhodes, Tilos, Symi, Nisyros, Kalymnos, Kos, Leros and Halki) and characteristic UNH.
  3. The identification of the species Muschampia floccifera and Muschampia orientalis is facilitated if the small differences in the UNH and the color of the UPS are pointed out.
  4. Some photos are also presented with individuals of both genus Carcharodus and Muschampia to better understand the special characteristics.
